Amazon India launches ‘Mentor Connect’ programme for startups, emerging brands
E-commerce giant Amazon India revealed the launch of its ‘Mentor Connect’ program, targeted at boosting the growth of startups and emerging brand owners registered under its Amazon Launchpad initiative.
According to a statement, the program will provide startups and emerging brands with access to guidance from venture capital firms, industry veterans, and Amazon leaders via expert knowledge sharing sessions, networking events, and one-on-one mentorship sessions.
The statement further added that Mentors from various educational institutions and VC firms like Elevation Capital, DSG Consumer Partners, Fireside Ventures, Tomorrow Capital have already registered for the program to contribute to the Indian startup growth story.
“Startups and emerging brands enrolled in the Amazon Launchpad program can access guidance from these mentors through various ways. This includes one-to-one mentorship with chosen mentors over three months, ongoing networking opportunities with a wider pool of industry experts, or knowledge sharing sessions between these experts and other Launchpad brands,” the statement said.
This provides entrepreneurs with a platform to engage, learn, and present their startups to the leading subject matter experts in the industry to help take on strategic and functional challenges, it added.
“The Amazon Mentor Connect program is not limited to startups and emerging brand owners enrolled in the Amazon Launchpad programme, but will also be extended to the winners of the Amazon Smbhav Entrepreneurship challenge in the upcoming Amazon Smbhav summit,” the statement said.
Currently, Amazon Launchpad has more than 2 lakh products offered by over 800 emerging brands across 30 different product categories. Popular sectors served by these brands include health and personal care, beauty and grooming, grocery and home products.
The second edition of ‘Amazon Smbhav’ will be hosted from April 15-18, 2021.
Pranav Bhasin, Amazon India Director (MSME and Selling Partner Experience) said, “India has a large startup ecosystem that is key to disruptive innovation and accelerating India’s progress towards an Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Most of these startups are led by first-time entrepreneurs who have the passion to drive a change, but don’t have the experience to deal with the breadth of challenges they face along the way.”
With the Amazon Mentor Connect program, the purpose is to build a support system to enable startups to realize their potential by providing them with the right mentoring that can help them expand their business, dodge blind spots, learn from the experience of existing leaders, open new doors and help them unlock infinite possibilities for a Digital India, he added.
Amazon’s Mentor Connect Programme is a great opportunity for emerging startups to gain valuable knowledge from leading industry experts. So far this year has seen a huge growth in the Indian Startup Ecosystem and with opportunities like these, it’ll grow leaps and bounds.Shishir Gupta, Founder and Ceo, StartupLanes
