Born on Kolkata in 1943, schooled in Delhi, Colleged in Kolkata, with Commerce Degree in 1963. Joined IBP Company Limited a British Company in New Delhi in December 1963 and left in 1993, as Board Member and joined Southern LPG in Chennai as CEO with an interessting business proposal initially to import LPG and market. After I joined, looking at severe competition of differential pricing for private operators like us, it was not fesible to make any money by the company. So I changed their Business Plan to import LPG as they were spealists in transportation by owning LPG vessels as also having technology to moor a ship overseas three miles from shore and connect by underground piple lines and bring products to shore was a profitable proposaition for the company. We were setting up locations to get LPG, when the zsouth East Monetory crisis took the companyout of business in Hongkong. Finally closed. The Joined Essar Refineries and set up marketing on land for marketing products from inported fuel and left after three years. Concentrated on farmer upliftment as conditions of our small farmers are pretty bad and devised a Model to make them self-reliant. Trying to fund this Model.
