Bengaluru-based e-Learning startup Byju’s raised around $1 billion from new investors, including previous Facebook benefactor Eduardo Saverin’s B Capital Group, Baron Funds and XN.

The freshly raised fund is one of the largest late capital expansions in the country and takes the e-learning platform to a valuation of $15 billion.

According to the report, a source familiar with the development confirmed that existing investors, including private value giant Silver Lake Management, Owl Ventures, and T Rowe Price, are putting around $100 million each in the funding round, which is not yet closed.

The startup is in talks to close the round with an additional $200 to $300 million in the upcoming time at a marginally higher valuation, the report stated.
