Doubtnut Received $15 Million Funding

Doubtnut, an educational startup, raised $15 Million in a Series A funding round. Tencent Holdings Limited led the round. This startup is an online tutoring platform that prepares students for various levels of exams ranging from both competitive exams to the school curricular. Doubtnut plans to use this funding for national expansion and build a reliable network of content while engaging with clients. Also, it aspires to strengthen its technological capacity and hire new talent.

The co-founder of Doubtnut, Tanushree Nagori, “we aim to use technology to provide a democratic, comprehensive and easily accessible education solution to all students – in the language and manner that they best understand.” “Eighty-five percent of our users are from outside the top 10 metro cities in India, strengthening our belief that we are really solving for Bharat. Sixty percent of these users have come online in the last 12 months. This gives us an indication that despite a massive growth is our user base, there is still a significant target audience that is yet to be tapped.”

Tanushree Nagori and her husband, Aditya Shankar founded Doubtnut in 2016. This startup is based in Gurugram. It focuses on teaching Science and Mathematics to students from classes 9th to 12th. This is an online platform that can be accessed from online portals like Playstore on Android and App Store. Students can post their doubts on this platform and the app uses its database of previous questions to find answers. If answers aren’t there students can post their questions for the online tutors to answer. It is a multilingual platform that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to help students.

The founder of StartupLanes, Shishir Gupta says: Startups must try to give back to society. Doubtnut is an excellent platform to impart knowledge to students of senior classes and even help them prepare for entrance exams. The online model makes learning accessible to students. I am hopeful that Doubtnut will use this funding to expand this initiative and reach more students. Congratulations to the Team.

The EdTech sector has a lot of untapped potential. There is a lot of scope for startups to grow in this sector.
