Healthcare Startup Janani.Life Raises $2.2 Million From Y Combinator, Others
Janani.Life, a healthcare startup, has raised $2.2 million in growth capital from a group of investors, including the global accelerator Y Combinator (YC), Olive Tree Capital, and Good Water Capital.
The funding round also saw participation from Soma Capital, Brightlane VC, NB Ventures, along with some prominent angel investors like Avendus Capital’s founder Gaurav Deepak and D S Brar (Chairman GVK life science and former President of Ranbaxy).
As per the startup, the raised funds will be utilised to build its technology stack, initiate full-fledged operations across major cities in the country and ramp up its brand building and marketing activities.
Founded by Nilay Mehrotra and Raj Garg in October 2020, Janani.Life is a gender-neutral end-to-end sexual wellness & fertility platform. Part of YC’s current winter batch (W22), the healthtech startup helps people suffering from lifestyle disorders find discrete and convenient solutions at home.
Speaking about the development, Nilay Mehrotra, Co-founder of Janani, said,
“Infertility and sexual disorders are a growing problem in India, and in the name of solution, what is available is just a few brands who sell generic drugs and pills. At Janani, we get to the root cause of the problem through our proprietary diagnostic and treatment plans created with the help of expert doctors, and this round funding validates the market’s need for an innovative product.”
Offering teleconsultations, at-home diagnostics, and nutraceuticals, Janani.Life has an end-to-end solution for sperm health, female fertility, irregular periods, period pain, PCOD/PCOS, and low libido and ED for men. The startup also offers specially curated programs for different lifestyle-related health issues.
The healthcare startup aims to make the process of infertility treatment and assisted fertilization easier and more affordable for the masses with the use of technologies like ‘ At Home Semen’ testing.
In 2021, Janani.Life raised around $1.5 million in a seed funding round led by Venture Catalysts, Inflection Point Ventures, and Apollo Hospitals.
Janani.Life seems to be an intriguing startup with inspiring development on wellness and fitness platform. I’m certain this startup would keep on thriving in its excursion ahead. All the best to the whole group of Janani.Life. This will give them an enormous achievement in the future.Shishir Gupta, Founder and CEO, StartupLanes
