Lenskart raises 231 million Dollars from Softbank Vision

The eyewear care solution company, Lenskart raises 231 million Dollars from the Softbank. Now the company is valued at 1.5 billion dollars. This is Softbank’s first investment in India. The company is going to utilize the funds for expanding technology capabilities and strengthening its supply chain management.

Lenskart is Faridabad based company that started in 2010 by Peyush Bansal, Amit Chaudhary, and Sumeet Kapahi. It is a retail prescription optical eyewear chain both online and offline, covering around 70 cities in India. Now it has expanded to Singapore as well. Earlier it used to outsource its stock from China. But now the company has shifted to domestic production and invested around 70 Crores in the last couple of years. The company claims to have 500 offline stores and aiming to expand 150 more stores by March 2020.
