Medishala looks to raise funds for providing oxygen concentrators to rural population

Rural MedTech Platform Medishala announced it is looking to crowdfund as an initiative of ‘Womenia Chakra Foundation’ for purchasing 300 oxygen concentrators to provide in the hospitals of rural Bihar.

At present, the country is in the midst of a mighty second wave of the dangerous COVID-19 with a huge rise in cases every day.

The startup has requested the citizens to contribute to this novel cause at the fund-raiser platform ‘Milaap’, claiming to match each donation to meet the total fund-raise for oxygen concentrators.

The oxygen supply has vanished before our eyes in rural areas of Bihar, severely affecting critical COVID-19 patients. People are breathless and we must come forward to make a difference. It is our responsibility, as citizens of India, to help people find ‘oxygen’, the basic requirement of us humans to stay alive and save the lives of our families.

They aim to provide both short-term and long-term solutions to the oxygen crisis in rural Bihar.

They will provide hospitals with oxygen concentrators and bi-paps that will help those in desperate need. These are sources that will not run out and can help more people than oxygen cylinders.

As the most pressing need is Oxygen as of now, a ‘Womenia Chakra Foundation’ initiative in association with ‘Campus Varta’, and ‘Medishala’ is raising money to buy equipment to set up an oxygen generating facility in several hospitals.

With their own in-house supply facility, these hospitals would be able to decrease their dependency on external sources of oxygen supply.

An average 5L/10L concentrator with a lifespan of 18,000 hours and will be, on average, used for 5 days by a person, will serve about 22,000 people in its lifetime. This will be a more impactful and effective replacement for the oxygen cylinder which needs continuous refilling and has various logistical challenges.

This is a not-for-profit and charitable initiative, with proceeds going exclusively for the equipment.

The firm strives to help the poor and needy rural population in these times of crisis.

This has been done after discussions with the local authorities. This oxygen supply system provides oxygen directly to the patient’s ICU bed. It also gives enough oxygen to help refill thousands of cylinders via a drive-through facility.

An initiative by the ‘Womenia Chakra Foundation’ is running a campaign to raise Rs 1 crore to ensure that it can work together to achieve the critical ‘Oxygen supplies’ and to help those in dire need, as they fight for their lives.

The country is suffocating with the second wave of COVID. Medishala has launched an amazing initiative to help thousands of people in rural Bihar in these testing times.
