Mental Healthtech Startup Wysa raises $20 Mn in series b funding led by HealthQuad
Wysa, a mental health platform powered by artificial intelligence (AI), has secured $20 million in a Series B investment led by HealthQuad & British International Investment (BII). Existing investors in the round included W Health Ventures, Google Assistant Investments, as well as pi Ventures, among others. The mental health system intends to use the funds to grow further in India, the United States, and the United Kingdom, among other worldwide markets. Wysa will also expand usability by offering multilingual support.
A vast spectrum of communities in India suffers from mental health issues. People continue to suffer as a result of stigma and a shortage of therapists and psychiatrists. However, the pandemic did contribute to increased awareness and discussion of anxiety and depression, among other concerns. Wysa also reports that its user base has more than doubled over the last year.
“Wysa was founded in India but is sold worldwide. Wysa is required in nations ranging from high-income to low-income. In India, the rest of low-income Asia, Africa, and the world’s wealthiest countries, mental health triaging employing AI that is fast, effective, and non-stigmatizing for people living in unaccepting communities meets a major need,” commented Charles Antoine-Janssen, Chief Investment Officer, HealthQuad.
Wysa, founded in 2015 by Jo Aggarwal & Ramakant Vempati, is an AI-based platform where clients with early signs of mental health illnesses may interact with the bot. The software then suggests that the user seek professional treatment, among other options. Wysa claimed to have 4.5 million users in 65 countries. Accenture, Colgate-Palmolive, the National Health Service (NHS) in the Uk, and also the Ministry of Health in Singapore are among the companies that use the startup’s services.
Wysa seems to be a captivating startup with inspiring new development on wellness and fitness services platform. This startup would continue to prosper in the future. Wishing this startup good luck in all its future endeavors.Shishir Gupta, Founder and CEO, StartupLanes
