Insurtech platforms InsuranceDekho and the RenewBuy group announced on Tuesday the consolidation of their businesses. The merger creates an AI-enabled insurance distribution platform based on point-of-sales persons-driven premium generated for the fiscal year 2025-26.
As of March 31, 2026, the combined platforms have facilitated the issuance of over two crore insurance policies since their inception. The unified business will operate under the InsuranceDekho brand name, with Ankit Agrawal serving as the CEO of the combined entity. The founders of both organizations will remain involved in the merged organization.
The consolidation combines InsuranceDekho's market strength in northern and western India with RenewBuy's operational presence in the south, establishing a pan-India footprint. According to the release, the combined entity features a premium book exceeding ₹6,600 crore, a network of more than 6 lakh digital partners, and coverage spanning 98.57 per cent of India's pin codes.
The integration aims to establish an AI-first model combining distribution and technology infrastructure. Commenting on the development, Ankit Agrawal, Founder and CEO of InsuranceDekho, stated that the combination brings together complementary strengths in technology, on-ground distribution, and insurer partnerships, with an immediate focus on disciplined execution and seamless integration.
Balachander Sekhar, CEO of RenewBuy, noted that the union brings together a combination of digital, technology, and distribution enablement to scale operations further.
"The consolidation of InsuranceDekho and RenewBuy highlights a strategic shift toward scale and operational efficiency in the Indian insurtech sector. By combining regional strengths—InsuranceDekho in the north and west with RenewBuy in the south—the merged entity achieves a truly pan-India footprint. Reaching nearly 98.57 per cent of pin codes with a ₹6,600 crore premium book demonstrates how consolidation can rapidly build deep market penetration. For the broader ecosystem, the success of this merger will depend heavily on how effectively the two distinct operational cultures and technology stacks integrate to support their massive network of digital partners." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
