WhatsApp surprised Indian startups with 250,000 Dollars
WhatsApp to Infuse 250k in Indian Startups
WhatsApp recently partnered with Startup India and offers 250,000 dollars to Indian startups. Out of 5 million, 1 million businesses are in India. Most of them are actively using WhatsApp to interact with their customers. Through this collaboration WhatsApp is going to give 500 dollar each of facebook ad credits to 500 startups approved by Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). This will help startups to grow and expand their business through increasing their sales by linking with more customers. WhatsApp also presented five Grand Challenge winners 50,000 dollars each.

Startup India campaign was first announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his 15 Aug, 2015 address on Red Fort. It’s a big step taken by Government of India to motivate those who wants to start their own business. It is working towards innovation, development, deployment and commercialization of new products, processes, or services . government is also giving tax exemptions to startups. It is bring out the hidden talent in India specially the banking sector, women entrepreneurs, etc. it also aims to maximise employment in India.
