Arunachal Pradesh, meaning “Land of the Rising Sun,”  and formerly known as the North-East Frontier Agency. Though the population density of the state is low as compared to other states, it is home to dozens of distinct ethnic groups. More than half of the population of Arunachal Pradesh is engaged in agriculture.

Arunachal Pradesh has significant, though largely unutilized, resource potential. Among its resources for generating energy are rivers, coal, and petroleum; most of the state’s power is provided by hydroelectric plants. The state has a very strong agrarian base, and more importantly, a very large English speaking human resource base. And the state is fast emerging as a one-of-a-kind startup ecosystem.

Some of the startups that are putting the region on the entrepreneurship map are Medilane HealthTech. It is an on-demand healthcare service provider focusing on affordable home healthcare and medical transport services. Based out of Imphal, Manipur, the startup was incorporated in July 2017.
