Former ShareChat Ex Cofounders Secured $3M Seed Funding for General Autonomy

Former ShareChat executives Farid Ahsan and Bhanu Pratap Singh have successfully raised $3 million in seed funding for their new startup, General Autonomy. The investment round was led by India Quotient and Elevation Capital, with participation from angel investors like Livspace co-founder Ramakant Sharma and Zetwerk co-founder Srinath Ramakkrushnan. The founders shared their vision for General Autonomy to revolutionize the future of factories by building artificial intelligence-driven machines that automate various labor workflows.

General Autonomy aims to tackle the complexity of factory operations, considering them as intricate puzzles where automation plays a crucial role in achieving a comprehensive, standardized, and safe production environment. Farid Ahsan, in a social media post, expressed the company’s mission to make mass manufacturing agile and distributed, drawing parallels with software development practices. Despite being headquartered in Bengaluru, General Autonomy has a global focus.

This development comes after Ahsan and Singh stepped down from their roles at ShareChat in January. The startup’s vision aligns with the broader trend in the industrial robotics sector, where companies like Ati Motors raised significant funding to develop autonomous industrial robots. With this seed funding, General Autonomy aims to advance its mission and contribute to the evolution of automation in factories.

That’s fantastic news! ShareChat is making waves in the tech world. They have recently secured an impressive $3 million in seed funding for their new startup, General Autonomy. Sending my best wishes to the ShareChat team!
