Puneet Sharma, serving as the Chief Financial Officer of Axis Bank since March 2020, brings to the role an extensive background with over two decades of experience in banking, the financial sector, and consulting.
In his previous significant role, Puneet spent 12 years at Tata Capital Limited, where he held senior management positions, fostering close interactions with the Board. As the Chief Financial Officer of Tata Capital Limited and Tata Capital Financial Services Limited from 2014, he played a pivotal role in overseeing financial control, financial planning, procurement, and taxation. His earlier experiences at Citibank N.A. involved responsibilities spanning structured cash solutions, treasury operations, risk monitoring, and reporting on fixed-income securities. Puneet commenced his career at Bharat S Raut & Co. and later served as a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group, where he worked on diverse topics in financial services, including strategy, transformation, and process improvement.
A qualified Chartered Accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Bombay, Puneet further enriched his knowledge with a graduation from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. Beyond his professional pursuits, he indulges in do-it-yourself projects and has a fondness for listening to old Hindi music.
