Water management startup DigitalPaani has successfully raised $1.2 million in a seed funding round led by Elemental Excelerator, marking the latter’s first investment in Asia. Over 40 prominent industry players, including Tata Power, Delhi Jal Board, Britannia, and Leela Hotels, currently leverage DigitalPaani’s technology for water management.
The startup specializes in providing automation and software solutions to optimize wastewater treatment infrastructure functionality. Its platform monitors infrastructure performance, identifies issues, and offers remedial guidance. The seed funding round saw participation from global investors Elemental Excelerator, Enzia, Peer Cheque, SAE, DevC, and Bharat Founders Fund, as well as angel investors such as Ashish Goel (Urban Ladder), Alok Mittal (Indifi), Mohit Sadani (Moms Co), and Mohit Tandon (Delhivery).
DigitalPaani, founded by a father-daughter duo, aims to revolutionize wastewater management to meet up to 65% of water needs while reducing costs by up to 35%. The startup’s IoT-enabled platform optimizes plant operations, enhances wastewater treatment, reduces downtime, and enables water reuse. The newly acquired funds will be used to scale its technology across more wastewater treatment plants in India and explore future markets, unlocking additional sales channels.
