Cancer-focused healthcare service provider Healthcare Global Enterprises has released its financial performance for the second quarter, reporting a 55.22 per cent decline in net profit to ₹9.25 crore. The company had posted a profit after tax of ₹20.66 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.
According to a regulatory filing by the company, the decrease in net profit was primarily dragged by exceptional items. During the September quarter, the group evaluated the likelihood of meeting its specified export obligations under the Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) scheme. Having availed customs duty exemptions on imported capital goods under this scheme, the company estimated a shortfall in meeting these obligations and subsequently made a provision of ₹11.59 crore.
Despite the dip in net profit, the company registered growth in its top line. Revenue from operations for the quarter under review stood at ₹730.16 crore, marking an increase from ₹645.16 crore recorded in the same quarter a year earlier.
Commenting on the operational performance, HealthCare Global Enterprises CEO Manish Mattoo stated that the company sustained its growth momentum in Q2 FY27. He noted that the business delivered a revenue growth of 16 per cent, which was driven by a 9 per cent increase in patient volumes alongside a 7 per cent improvement in average revenue per patient (ARPP).
Mattoo added that this performance reflects the organization's continued focus on improving its revenue mix, increasing contributions from high-complexity oncology treatments, and driving overall operational efficiencies across its facilities.
"The financial results of Healthcare Global Enterprises highlight an important lesson in compliance and corporate provisioning. While operational metrics such as patient volume and average revenue per patient are showing positive growth, unexpected regulatory provisions can significantly impact the bottom line in a single quarter. For growing businesses, it is critical to continuously monitor export obligations and statutory commitments alongside core revenue generation to maintain consistent profitability." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
