Andhra Pradesh Puts Administration on High Alert Following Weather Warnings for Northern Coastal Regions

AMARAVATI — The Andhra Pradesh government has placed the northern part of the state on high alert following forecasts of heavy rainfall and strong winds. The adverse weather conditions are expected to develop under the influence of a low-pressure area forming over the Bay of Bengal.

Home and Disaster Management Minister Vangalapudi Anitha has directed local district administrations to remain vigilant and implement precautionary measures across vulnerable areas. According to the meteorological forecast, coastal regions are likely to experience strong winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour, alongside rough sea conditions.

In response to the sea conditions, authorities have issued a strict advisory for fishermen, urging them not to venture into the sea and to adhere closely to warnings issued by the Meteorological Department. Special vigilance has been mandated for coastal and low-lying habitations.

To manage any potential weather-related emergencies, the state government has directed the police, revenue, fisheries, and disaster management departments to coordinate closely. District authorities have been instructed to keep rescue and relief teams on standby for rapid deployment.

Emphasizing the safety of residents, officials stated that the protection of human life and property remains the top priority. District administrations continue to monitor the situation closely to provide prompt assistance to populations residing in vulnerable zones.
