Swiss banking major UBS announced on Thursday that it has acquired an approximately 4.8 percent stake in Indian wealth management firm 360 ONE WAM. The acquisition was executed through the conversion of warrants into equity shares, marking a significant step in the ongoing strategic wealth management partnership between the two institutions.
According to the company disclosures, UBS exercised all 20.5 million warrants that were originally allotted to the Swiss bank in July 2025. To complete the transaction and acquire the equivalent number of shares, UBS paid the remaining 75 percent of the exercise price.
The Mumbai-based 360 ONE WAM operates in the wealth management sector, catering to high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients. The completion of this warrant conversion deepens the institutional relationship between UBS and the Indian wealth manager as both entities continue to collaborate within the wealth management space.
The financial terms of the final warrant exercise correspond to the previously established agreement regarding the 20.5 million warrants. With the fulfillment of the remaining payment obligations, the warrants have now been fully converted into equity shares, granting UBS its 4.8 percent stake in the firm.
"The conversion of warrants into equity by a global institution like UBS demonstrates continued confidence in India's wealth management sector. Strategic partnerships of this nature often help firms scale their operations by combining international expertise with local market presence. As institutional interest in Indian financial services grows, such transactions highlight the expanding scope of cross-border collaboration in the domestic wealth management landscape." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
