Shares of PC Jeweller experienced a significant upward movement on Thursday, rising as much as 8.6% to hit their highest mark since May 2018. The market reaction came in the wake of the company's financial update, which revealed a profit jump of more than 50% for the quarter.

Alongside the earnings growth, the company announced that it has successfully cleared its financial liabilities, having fully repaid the debt owed to a consortium of 14 banks.

"Achieving a debt-free status through the full repayment of a 14-bank consortium is a critical milestone for any established enterprise, significantly strengthening its balance sheet. When combined with a more than 50% jump in quarterly profit, it naturally drives positive market sentiment and investor confidence, as reflected in the recent stock price movement. For businesses navigating turnaround strategies, deleveraging is often the most effective way to restore long-term financial health and operational stability." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
