Budget hotel chain Oyo's parent company, Prism, has reduced the size of its proposed initial public offering by nearly half. The move comes as the SoftBank-backed firm attempts to revive its long-delayed listing plans.

Prism, the parent company of budget hotel chain Oyo Hotels, has significantly reduced the size of its proposed initial public offering (IPO), according to a regulatory filing on Thursday.

The company has nearly halved the proposed offering as it works to revive its long-delayed public listing plans in the market.

Oyo, which counts SoftBank among its major backers, has faced multiple delays in its public market debut over recent years amidst shifting market conditions and adjustments to its business strategy.

The latest filing indicates a recalibration of the company's capital-raising strategy as it moves forward with its public listing process.

"Adjusting the size of a public offering is a pragmatic step for companies navigating complex market environments. For a prominent startup like Oyo, resizing the IPO reflects a careful reassessment of capital requirements and market appetite. Founders and leadership teams must balance valuation expectations with actual market liquidity to ensure a successful public market transition. This development highlights the importance of flexibility in long-term financial planning." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
