NEW DELHI — In a strategic move to future-proof India’s industrial base, global automotive benchmarking leader Caresoft Global has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Delhi Research Implementation and Innovation (DRIIV). The collaboration aims to radically transform talent development within the Indian engineering and manufacturing sectors by systematically bridging the prevailing skill gap.
DRIIV operates under the aegis of the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, having been established on the recommendation of the Prime Minister's Science, Technology and Innovation Advisory Council (PM-STIAC). To ensure seamless execution on the ground, Adroit Technologies Innovative Solutions Pvt. Ltd. has onboarded as the official implementation partner for the initiative.
As India aggressively scales up to become one of the world's fastest-growing manufacturing economies, the nation is pivoting rapidly toward higher-value products and integrated global supply chains. However, this transition toward advanced sectors—such as Electric Vehicles (EVs), Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs), and electronics-intensive architectures—has exposed a structural challenge. While Indian academic institutions consistently produce engineering graduates with robust theoretical foundations, students frequently lack practical, real-world exposure regarding how world-class products are designed, benchmarked, and optimized across their lifecycle.
To counter this, the partnership will establish specialized Centers of Excellence (CoEs) across academic institutions nationwide. These CoEs will deploy multidisciplinary development programs spanning mechanical, automotive, electrical, electronics, manufacturing, industrial engineering, computer science, IT, and Artificial Intelligence disciplines. Adroit Technologies will manage everyday operations, including comprehensive faculty enablement, onboarding, and program delivery.
At the technological core of this initiative is Iceberg, Caresoft Global's proprietary engineering benchmarking and intelligence platform. Iceberg grants engineering students and faculty deep insights into how leading OEMs and global suppliers make mission-critical decisions regarding product design, performance, manufacturability, quality, and cost. By leveraging this tool, the Indian engineering ecosystem will gain unprecedented visibility into global best practices.
