India and Nepal Conclude 14th Joint Working Group Meeting in Dehradun

India and Nepal have reviewed the full spectrum of their bilateral issues concerning border management and security, reiterating their mutual commitment to strengthening cooperation in these key areas.

The two-day 14th edition of the India-Nepal Joint Working Group (JWG) concluded in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, according to a statement released by the Union Home Ministry.

The Indian delegation during the talks was led by Pausumi Basu, Joint Secretary for Border Management-I within the Ministry of Home Affairs. Meanwhile, the Nepalese delegation was headed by Ananda Kafle, Joint Secretary of the Nepalese Ministry of Home Affairs.

During the meetings, the two sides reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral cooperation on border management and security and reaffirmed their commitment to reinforcing cooperation across these sectors.

Discussions held during the two-day session also covered the maintenance of boundary pillars and the effective utilization of existing border infrastructure.

Additionally, the delegates exchanged views focused on strengthening institutional coordination and capacity building across various sectors, agreeing to sustain their engagement moving forward.

The official statement confirmed that both sides agreed to hold the next meeting of the Joint Working Group in Nepal at a mutually convenient date.
