K Hospitality aims to reach ₹6,000 crore in system-wide sales by the 2029-30 fiscal year, up from ₹3,500 crore in 2025-26. The growth will be driven by expansion across its restaurant, institutional food services, QSR, and lounge businesses.

Hospitality and food service operator K Hospitality is targeting ₹6,000 crore in system-wide sales by the 2029-30 financial year, according to a top company executive. The projections indicate growth across the company's restaurants, institutional food services, QSR, and lounge businesses.

Karan Kapur, executive director at K Hospitality Corp and Kliff Ventures, stated that the company's system-wide sales—which include company-owned stores as well as independent franchised or licensed outlets—stood at approximately ₹3,500 crore in the 2025-26 period. The overall group expects to grow at approximately 20 per cent over the next three years to meet the ₹6,000 crore target.

K Hospitality operates more than 120 brands across its three verticals, including notable names such as Nando's, Wagamama, Copper Chimney, Irish House, and Bombay Brasserie.

Outlining the company's expansion plans, Kapur detailed three key areas of focus. The first is the travel QSR and lounge business, expanding across travel food services at airports in India and overseas. The second is the restaurant business, where the company plans to open around 40 restaurants to bring its total outlet count to 100 within the current financial year. The third area involves banqueting, catering, and institutional food services, expanding across corporate parks and event catering.

Regarding geographic reach, the restaurant expansion will primarily target major metropolitan markets including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata, alongside select formats in cities like Pune.

The company plans to double its Nando's outlet count to approximately 36 this year, while adding 6 to 8 Copper Chimney locations and around 6 Wagamama outlets. These three brands will represent a significant portion of the planned expansion alongside other brand openings. K Hospitality expects to invest approximately ₹100 crore in restaurant expansion during FY27, funded entirely through internal accruals.

On potential international joint ventures, Kapur noted that while international brands continue to express interest in entering the Indian market and conversations are ongoing, there are no immediate announcements to make.

The restaurant business remains predominantly India-focused, with about 99 per cent of operations centered domestically. The immediate priority is building the business within India, though the company maintains a limited international presence with 3 to 4 outlets across the UAE, the UK, and Sri Lanka under brands including Copper Chimney.

To support this growth, K Hospitality intends to follow a company-owned operational model. Having tested different business models over five decades in the industry, the company believes that company-owned operations provide tighter control over quality, operations, supply chains, and the overall consumer experience compared to franchising at the current stage of growth.

"K Hospitality's targeted growth strategy highlights the importance of operational control in the food and beverage sector. By relying primarily on internal funding and a company-owned model rather than rapid franchising, the company is prioritizing quality assurance and supply chain consistency. Focusing on multi-format expansion across metropolitan markets and travel hubs provides a diversified revenue base, which is a sustainable approach for long-term scaling in the competitive hospitality industry." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
