Silver prices witnessed a downward movement on Wednesday, falling by ₹1,416 to reach ₹1,95,301 per kilogram in futures trade. The correction in prices was primarily attributed to market participants reducing their bets and engaging in a sell-off.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), silver contracts designated for December delivery recorded a decrease of ₹1,416, representing a 0.72 per cent dip from the previous sessions. Market activity during the session saw a business turnover of 1,089 lots for the precious metal.
Industry analysts noted that the local price movement closely mirrored international trends. Globally, the white metal traded lower, registering a 1.01 per cent decline to stand at USD 53.87 per ounce in New York markets.
"Commodity market fluctuations, such as the recent dip in silver futures, reflect immediate shifts in trading positions and global pricing trends. For businesses and entrepreneurs dealing in raw materials or precious metals, tracking these MCX movements is crucial for managing supply chain costs and inventory valuation. Price corrections of this scale highlight the inherent volatility in global commodity markets, requiring cautious financial planning and risk management strategies." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
