Hyderabad-based technology firm Magellanic Cloud announced that its subsidiary Provigil Surveillance has secured an ₹8.90 crore contract from DFCCIL. The deal involves setting up an IP-based CCTV surveillance system along the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor on an OPEX model.

Shares of Magellanic Cloud Limited moved up by 6.95 per cent to reach ₹28.63 on the NSE following an announcement that its wholly owned subsidiary, Provigil Surveillance Limited, received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL).

The contract is valued at ₹8,89,99,860 and was awarded by DFCCIL’s Ahmedabad unit. According to the company, the project involves the supply, installation, testing, commissioning, operations, and maintenance of an IP-based CCTV surveillance system. The deployment covers the New Palanpur–New Gothangam section of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor.

The agreement operates on an OPEX model spanning a five-year period. It includes infrastructure for remote video monitoring, perimeter security, asset protection, and a Command and Control Centre. The technical scope of the order encompasses AI-enabled video analytics, centralised monitoring, and video management systems.

This contract follows a separate order secured by Provigil from DFCCIL on August 13, indicating an ongoing business relationship with the public-sector infrastructure organisation. Commenting on the development, Global CEO and Managing Director Joseph Sudheer Reddy Thumma stated that the order reflects trust in the company's execution capabilities and noted that the firm remains focused on building its order pipeline within critical infrastructure segments.

During the trading session, the stock touched an intraday high of ₹29.10 compared to its previous close of ₹26.77. Traded volume reached 67.55 lakh shares with a traded value of ₹19.19 crore by midday, bringing the total market capitalisation of the company to approximately ₹1,687.68 crore. Market data indicates the stock remains below its 52-week high of ₹90.50 recorded in August 2025, alongside an annualised volatility of 77.38 per cent.

Hyderabad-headquartered Magellanic Cloud operates several subsidiaries, including Motivity Labs, Scandron, Provigil Surveillance, and IVIS International. The group offers digital transformation, AI, cloud computing, e-surveillance, and drone technologies catering to sectors such as infrastructure, defence, and enterprise IT.

"Securing repeat public-sector contracts validates a company's operational execution capabilities in critical infrastructure sectors. For technology firms operating subsidiaries across specialized domains like surveillance and digital transformation, leveraging an OPEX model for long-term government projects provides steady revenue visibility. However, investors and business leaders must closely monitor execution timelines and market volatility when scaling capital-intensive infrastructure technology deployments." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
