Trilegal Expands Mumbai Footprint With Dedicated Disputes Office at Killick House

Law firm Trilegal has expanded its physical footprint with the opening of a dedicated disputes-focused office at Killick House in Fort, Mumbai. Located in a Grade I heritage building known for its Edwardian façade and neoclassical detailing, the new location marks the firm’s ninth office in India.

According to the firm, the new Fort office was established to accommodate a growing number of dedicated disputes lawyers. These professionals have traditionally been based in the area due to its close proximity to the Bombay High Court and the chambers of senior counsel.

Trilegal’s national disputes practice currently comprises 28 partners and over 215 lawyers. The practice handles commercial litigation, domestic and international arbitration, insolvency proceedings, regulatory investigations, and white-collar matters. The firm reports seeing strong demand across these areas, noting particular activity in financial services, technology, energy, and infrastructure sectors. Additionally, the firm observed that clients are increasingly seeking legal advice at earlier stages to address regulatory, reputational, and commercial implications alongside litigation risk.

The Killick House workspace is designed to provide a collaborative environment for Mumbai’s disputes team while operating as part of a unified national practice alongside the firm's other locations.

Regarding its broader growth strategy, Trilegal stated that its immediate focus is on deepening its existing platform through investments in talent and specialist capabilities, rather than simply increasing its office count. The firm noted that any future expansion—whether by strengthening current offices, adding specialist teams, or entering new markets—will be evaluated based on clear strategic and client rationales.
