Uttar Pradesh Government Announces Plans to Issue One Lakh Appointment Letters Over Next Six Months

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Tuesday that the state government will distribute appointment letters to one lakh youths over the next six months in different stages. The announcement was made during an event where appointment letters were formally handed over to 3,446 technical assistants and 126 market secretaries. Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi and Minister of State for Agriculture Baldev Singh Aulakh were also present at the ceremony.

Addressing the gathering, Adityanath stated that more than 9.3 lakh youths have secured government jobs through a transparent and non-discriminatory recruitment process since 2017. He asserted that recruitments followed proper merit and reservation rules, emphasizing that the administration maintained a zero-tolerance policy toward corruption and malpractice in public examinations.

The Chief Minister criticized previous administrations, alleging that past recruitment systems suffered from corruption among boards, commissions, and officials, which often led to prolonged court cases, wasted time, and missed age limits for applicants. He highlighted that his government has focused on breaking copying mafias, seizing properties of wrongdoers, and streamlining examination timelines.

According to Adityanath, recruitment examinations for the upcoming tranche have already been completed, and the results processing is currently underway. He urged commissions and boards to further reduce administrative timelines to prevent delays for candidates who appear for examinations.

Highlighting broader economic impacts, the Chief Minister claimed that providing over 9.3 lakh government jobs has effectively contributed to the state's demographic dividend. He stated that these employment initiatives, combined with development measures, have helped triple the state's economy and per capita income, shifting Uttar Pradesh's economic standing.
