Mumbai-based AARAV Fragrances and Flavors has introduced AARAV Intelligence, a new capability combining in-house market research with AI-powered consumer research co-powered by Flickly. The platform aims to integrate data-backed consumer insights directly into the fragrance and flavor development process for FMCG brands.

MUMBAI — AARAV Fragrances and Flavors Pvt. Ltd. has announced the launch of AARAV Intelligence, a new capability designed to support data-backed innovation for fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) brands. The new offering serves as an umbrella for the company's consumer, market, trend, and innovation intelligence capabilities.

The newly launched capability combines AARAV's internal industry research with rapid, AI-powered consumer research co-powered by Flickly. Under this arrangement, Flickly's platform facilitates consumer research tools such as concept testing, pack testing, preference studies, and category deep-dives to help brands validate ideas during the product development cycle.

According to the company, the proposition is designed to help FMCG brands move from assumption-based development to strategies informed by actual consumer needs and emerging market trends. Consumer Intelligence studies can be deployed across various stages of development, ranging from pre-development concept validation to post-development evaluation. The research can explore flavor and fragrance preferences, packaging ideas, product names, usage occasions, purchase drivers, price segments, and premiumisation.

AARAV stated that the offering aims to bridge the gap between informal consumer feedback and traditional large-scale market research. For larger organizations, AARAV Intelligence is positioned to complement existing Consumer and Market Insights functions. For emerging and mid-sized brands, it provides access to structured consumer research that can be integrated into routine product development.

Vinay Vaze, Promoter at AARAV Fragrances and Flavors, said that the initiative is intended to bring consumer understanding closer to product development. "Fragrance and flavor decisions should not exist in isolation from what consumers are actually seeking or how markets are evolving. By connecting rapid consumer research with AARAV's own market intelligence and creative expertise, we want to help our customers build sharper briefs, make more informed innovation decisions and ultimately develop products that are more relevant to their consumers," he noted.

Founded in 2007 with a family heritage dating back to 1922, AARAV is a privately owned fragrance, flavor, and ingredient house operating across Maharashtra and Bengaluru. The company employs over 350 professionals and serves clients in more than 30 countries across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas.

"The integration of AI-powered consumer research directly into ingredient and product formulation is a practical step for B2B manufacturing and supply companies. By bridging the gap between raw market trends and actual consumer preferences early in the development cycle, suppliers can help FMCG brands reduce trial-and-error costs and accelerate time-to-market. This move reflects how traditional manufacturing sectors are adopting agile digital tools to enhance value for their clients." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
