NEW DELHI — Lenskart Solutions is set for a significant secondary share sale as its existing backer, Alpha Wave Ventures II, LP, moves to divest a portion of its holding. The venture firm is looking to offload up to 20.8 million shares, representing approximately 1.2 percent of the eyewear retailer's total outstanding share capital.
The block deal has been scheduled for Friday and has been initiated at a floor price of ₹630 per share. This pricing represents a 1.7 percent discount compared to Lenskart's closing price of ₹640.60 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) recorded on August 27, 2026.
Based on the floor price of ₹630 per share, the total size of the transaction is valued at approximately ₹1,313 crore, which translates to roughly US$137 million.
Secondary transactions of this nature allow early investors to realize partial liquidity while enabling new institutional buyers to enter the cap table of growth-stage enterprises. As the transaction unfolds on Friday, market participants will be closely tracking the absorption of the offered shares by institutional investors.
"Secondary share sales of this scale highlight the growing maturity of India's startup ecosystem, where early investors find viable exit routes while companies continue to scale. A block deal priced at a marginal discount to market value typically indicates healthy institutional appetite. Transactions like this one by Alpha Wave Ventures in Lenskart demonstrate that late-stage liquidity events are becoming increasingly structured and routine within the domestic market." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
