Avantel Secures ₹118 Crore DRDO Contract for Ground Segment Hub Development

HYDERABAD — Technology solutions provider Avantel has secured a significant contract worth ₹117.88 crore from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

According to a regulatory filing by the Hyderabad-based company, the contract has been awarded by the Ministry of Defence. The scope of the project encompasses the development, installation, and commissioning of a specialized ground segment hub dedicated to voice and data communication.

Public sector and defence-related technology projects typically require stringent execution timelines and technical compliance. In the case of this agreement, the company has stated that the project is scheduled to be fully executed by February 2029.

Avantel specializes in developing wireless communication products, satellite communication solutions, and defense electronics. Securing this sizeable order from a premier research organization like DRDO marks a notable development for the firm's order book in the defense and aerospace technology segment.
