Real estate developer Brigade Group has leased 1.62 lakh square feet of office space to healthcare technology company HealthEdge at Brigade Square in Thiruvananthapuram.
HealthEdge, which is backed by Bain Capital, will use the new campus to house teams across engineering, product development, technology, operations, and corporate functions. Brigade Square is located in Technopark Phase 1 and spans a total of 2 lakh square feet as an IT office building.
Nirupa Shankar, Joint Managing Director of Brigade Enterprises, stated that the objective is to create high-quality, technologically equipped workspaces to attract global businesses to the city. She noted that having a global healthcare technology company like HealthEdge as a key occupier validates Thiruvananthapuram's potential as a technology destination.
Kevin Adams, CEO of HealthEdge, stated that the company's India teams are central to its work across artificial intelligence, engineering, product development, and operations. He added that the new campus reflects the company's long-term commitment to expanding its operations in India.
This transaction coincides with Brigade Group advancing its commercial development plans in Thiruvananthapuram. The developer has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Kerala government to construct a 2-million-square-foot World Trade Center in Technopark Phase 1. Brigade Square will form a part of this broader development initiative.
The proposed World Trade Center is intended to strengthen the commercial office ecosystem in Thiruvananthapuram. It is expected to attract multinational corporations, technology firms, and other knowledge-driven businesses to the city as demand for such spaces expands beyond major Indian IT hubs.
"The expansion of commercial office leasing by major developers like Brigade Group into cities such as Thiruvananthapuram indicates a structural shift in India's corporate real estate landscape. As global firms like HealthEdge establish large operational footprints outside traditional tier-1 metros, it creates robust infrastructure demand and employment opportunities in emerging technology hubs. This decentralization is a positive indicator for regional economic growth and commercial real estate development." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
