These international wins arrive amid intensifying competition in India's premium beer segment, where multiple domestic and international players compete for shelf space and consumer mindshare. Carlsberg India continues to expand its market footprint through brewing investments and brand development across mainstream to super-premium price tiers.
Carlsberg India currently operates seven owned breweries and eight co-manufacturers across the country. Its product portfolio includes brands such as Tuborg, Carlsberg, and 1664 Blanc. The business operates as a subsidiary of the Carlsberg Group, an enterprise with a 178-year operational history.
"Recognition on international platforms like the World Beer Awards plays a significant role in brand positioning, especially in a competitive market like India's premium beer segment. For established players and large enterprises, winning accolades across both product quality and packaging design reinforces consumer trust and helps differentiate products in crowded retail environments. As competition intensifies across price tiers, maintaining consistency in manufacturing and brand presentation remains a key driver for long-term market share and consumer loyalty." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
