Darwinbox Integrates AI-Native HCM Platform Cortex with Slack

Singapore and San Francisco-headquartered Human Capital Management (HCM) provider Darwinbox has announced that its AI-native platform, Darwinbox Cortex, is now accessible on the Slack Marketplace. The integration enables existing Darwinbox customers to execute HR workflows, retrieve workforce data, and complete approvals without leaving their chat threads.

According to the company, the integration is designed to handle various requests in natural language, including leave, payroll, benefits, expenses, and policy questions. Cortex processes the request, executes the underlying workflow, and confirms the outcome directly inside the Slack interface.

The platform also facilitates manager approvals for time off, expenses, job opportunities, and candidate offers by providing relevant context within the communication channel. Additionally, onboarding processes for new hires—such as compliance, documentation, introductions, and tracking first-week milestones—can be managed through Slack while simultaneously updating records in Darwinbox.

Chaitanya Peddi, Co-founder of Darwinbox, stated that traditional HR software has historically required employees to navigate to dedicated portals. Integrating Cortex into Slack places the AI-native HCM directly into daily workflows where work decisions are made.

Gregg Rybicki, Senior Director Partner Engineering, noted that the collaboration aims to provide teams with AI tools directly within their operational environment, allowing employees to secure answers and managers to access context without breaking their workflow.

The Darwinbox application is available on the Slack Marketplace for installation by current Darwinbox customers.
