The Godrej Foundation has entered into a two-year partnership with the Maharashtra government and the Samagra Development Foundation. The non-binding MOU focuses on modernizing human resource processes across the employee lifecycle within the state's General Administration Department.

The Godrej Foundation announced on Friday that it has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government and the Samagra Development Foundation. The agreement establishes a two-year partnership aimed at supporting comprehensive human resource reforms across the state.

According to the statement released by the Godrej Foundation, an independent philanthropic trust, the initiative targets key HR processes handled by the State's General Administration Department (GAD). The reforms will span the entire employee lifecycle, covering stages from recruitment and deployment to retirement.

Under the collaborative structure of the partnership, the General Administration Department will provide the strategic direction for the administrative reforms. The Godrej Foundation is participating as the philanthropic and strategic partner. Meanwhile, the Samagra Development Foundation—a non-profit organization specializing in governance and public sector reform—will act as the implementation partner. Samagra will be responsible for driving day-to-day execution, providing technology facilitation, and supporting knowledge creation.

Commenting on the partnership, Pirojsha Godrej, Chairperson of the Godrej Industries Group, said that the collaboration demonstrates the effectiveness of collective action in addressing key state priorities. He added that the group remains dedicated to supporting initiatives that generate opportunities, enhance lives, and foster a resilient and prosperous Maharashtra.

The partnership marks a structured effort to integrate philanthropic strategy, non-profit execution capabilities, and government administration to address public sector operational efficiency over the next two years.

"Public-private partnerships and philanthropic collaborations play a critical role in modernizing public sector administration. By bringing in strategic partners and non-profit execution specialists like Samagra, government departments can leverage external expertise and technology to streamline internal processes. This two-year initiative by the Godrej Foundation highlights how structured institutional support can effectively address systemic challenges in public sector human resource management." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
