Gold prices recorded a downward trend across major metropolitan cities in India on August 28, following a decline compared to the previous day's rates. The drop affected both 22-carat and 24-carat gold across multiple urban centers including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, and Ahmedabad.

Nationwide averages for 22-carat gold stood at ₹14,730 for 1 gram, marking a decrease of ₹290, and ₹1,17,840 for 8 grams, which is down by ₹2,320.

In Delhi, the price for 1 gram of 22-carat gold was recorded at ₹14,750, down by ₹290, while 8 grams stood at ₹1,18,000, down by ₹2,320. For 24-carat gold in Delhi, 1 gram was priced at ₹15,488, showing a decline of ₹304, and 8 grams reached ₹1,23,904, down by ₹2,432.

In Mumbai, 22-carat gold was priced at ₹14,700 for 1 gram (down by ₹290) and ₹1,17,600 for 8 grams (down by ₹2,320). The 24-carat gold in Mumbai stood at ₹15,435 for 1 gram (down by ₹305) and ₹1,23,480 for 8 grams (down by ₹2,440).

In Kolkata, buyers saw 22-carat gold rates at ₹14,800 for 1 gram (down by ₹290) and ₹1,18,400 for 8 grams (down by ₹2,320). Meanwhile, 24-carat gold in Kolkata was listed at ₹15,540 for 1 gram (down by ₹305) and ₹1,24,320 for 8 grams (down by ₹2,440).
