Google Cloud and Imagine Marketing, the parent company of audio and wearables brand boAt, have joined hands to integrate Google Gemini AI features into the Crest AI lineup of smart audio devices.
According to a joint statement released on Thursday, the partnership leverages Google Cloud infrastructure and the multimodal capabilities of Gemini Live on the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. Through this integration, boAt aims to provide advanced voice-based commands to operate audio devices and address challenges related to Indian dialects.
Gaurav Nayyar, CEO of boAt, commented on the development: "By integrating Google's Gemini into our Crest AI devices, we are taking a massive leap forward. We are moving beyond basic voice assistants to create intelligent, conversational agents for general voice queries, device control, music playback, productivity, language translation and FAQ support. Partnering with Google Cloud allows us to scale this vision and redefine the future of ambient computing in India and beyond."
Additionally, the Crest AI devices will be integrated with Google Workspace. This integration is designed to transform boAt audio devices into hands-free productivity companions, enabling users to manage their Gmail, Tasks, and Calendar via voice commands.
Sashi Sreedharan, Managing Director of Google Cloud India, stated: "Voice and vernacular are the next frontier for AI in India, and Gemini Live helps make that possible. With Google Cloud's infrastructure underpinning them, boAt can scale this to millions of users across India."
"This partnership between Google Cloud and Imagine Marketing highlights a significant shift in how hardware brands are leveraging advanced artificial intelligence to elevate consumer experience. By integrating Google Gemini and Workspace into boAt's Crest AI devices, the collaboration addresses critical local needs like vernacular support while expanding utility into daily productivity. For consumer tech companies, moving beyond standard hardware into software-driven ambient computing will be a key differentiator in scaling user adoption across diverse markets." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
