Gujarat is projected to attract investments exceeding ₹75,000 crore this year as the state continues to promote industrial operations, product creation, and export growth. The projection was announced by Saurabh Sanyal, Secretary General of ASSOCHAM.
Speaking to ANI on the sidelines of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027 - Curtain Raiser, Sanyal emphasized the state's strategic focus on attracting businesses to create products for Gujarat, build for India, and expand exports. "We expect at least ₹75,000 crores in investments this year, if not more," Sanyal stated. He added that the state has cumulatively attracted foreign direct investments (FDIs) worth USD 55 billion up to March 2026.
ASSOCHAM anticipates strong international participation at the upcoming summit, particularly from countries in East and Southeast Asia. Sanyal noted that delegations and business leaders from Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, and other regional economies are expected to attend, driven by the state's performance in ease of doing business.
Highlighting the state's economic footprint, Sanyal pointed out that Gujarat contributes nearly 27 percent of its Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) to India's overall GDP and continues to grow. The state currently maintains partnerships with several international economies, including Uzbekistan, Japan, and Taiwan.
The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit aims to further showcase the state as a leading destination for domestic and international capital. State officials and industry bodies continue to position the region as a progressive market for enterprise and manufacturing expansion.
"Gujarat continues to demonstrate strong economic momentum, supported by steady foreign direct investments and consistent policy engagement with international markets. The projected investment inflow of over ₹75,000 crore reflects the state's robust industrial infrastructure and its appeal as a primary manufacturing and export hub in India. For businesses and entrepreneurs, aligning with regional growth corridors in progressive states like Gujarat offers significant expansion opportunities, particularly in sectors geared towards national development and global supply chains." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
