Indian small and medium enterprises, including Bengaluru-based nFaktor and Mohali-based Martech Space Castle, are utilizing international exhibitions in Singapore to expand their global footprint. Founders highlighted the role of government initiatives like 'Make in India' and 'Startup India' in supporting their international growth strategies.

Indian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are increasingly looking beyond domestic markets, leveraging international platforms to showcase technology platforms, intellectual property, digital products, and new business models.

Speaking on the sidelines of 'The Business Show Asia' exhibition held in Singapore on August 26-27, Neel Sinha, Founder and CEO of Bengaluru-based nFaktor, noted that Indian SMEs are building capabilities to compete internationally. Sinha's firm used the two-day exhibition to showcase its flagship gamification product, Playly.

Sinha credited government frameworks for aiding this momentum. "Make in India explicitly places innovation and entrepreneurship alongside investment and infrastructure, while Startup India provides mechanisms to help recognised start-ups access benefits, intellectual-property support and pathways to scale," he stated.

According to Sinha, participating in international events allows businesses to test concepts developed in India's competitive market against audiences across South Asia and Australia.

Another participant at the exhibition, Mohali-based Martech Space Castle, announced plans to enter the global Software as a Service (SaaS) and Communication Platform as a Service (CPaaS) sectors through Singapore.

Gursimran Singh, Founder of Martech Space Castle, said the firm is looking to establish a Singapore office to deliver its services. "We are confident to serve in the rapid enterprise cloud migration and AI adoption along with SaaS and CPaaS, which is currently worth $1.3 billion," Singh noted.

The Business Show Asia brought together over 8,000 business owners, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders over its two-day run, serving as a networking and market-entry platform for growing businesses.

"The expansion of Indian SMEs into international markets like Singapore demonstrates a clear maturation of the domestic startup ecosystem. By leveraging policy support such as Startup India and focusing on competitive product development in SaaS, CPaaS, and gamification, these businesses are building viable models for global scale. International exhibitions serve as critical testing grounds for Indian founders aiming to validate their intellectual property against broader regional audiences." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
