NEW DELHI — The website of India’s largest airline, IndiGo, experienced a technical disruption on Friday, preventing some users from booking tickets. During flight searches, the platform displayed a "no data available" message.
This incident marks the second time this week that the airline's digital booking system has faced technical issues. The root cause of the outage remains unclear, as the specific technical triggers have not been officially detailed.
IndiGo did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment regarding the disruption and the steps being taken to resolve the issue for affected customers.
Technical reliability is critical for modern airlines, where digital platforms handle a significant volume of daily bookings and customer interactions. Repeated disruptions can impact user trust and operational efficiency during peak booking windows.
"For a major market player like IndiGo, digital infrastructure is just as important as physical fleet operations. Repeated technical outages on customer-facing platforms can create friction in the user experience and lead to immediate revenue leakage. In the aviation and service sectors, maintaining robust, high-uptime digital architecture is essential to safeguarding brand reputation and ensuring seamless customer service." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
