Global cloud communications platform Infobip has recorded a 108% increase in Rich Communication Services interactions in India between H1 2025 and H1 2026. The finance and fintech sectors accounted for over three-fourths of all traffic in the country, highlighting the demand for verified and interactive business messaging.

Global AI-first cloud communications platform Infobip has announced a 108% growth in Rich Communication Services interactions in India between the first half of 2025 and the first half of 2026. The figures highlight the rapid adoption of interactive business messaging within one of the world's largest smartphone user bases.

According to the company's data, the finance and fintech sectors drove the majority of this traffic, contributing over three-quarters of all RCS interactions in the Indian market. This concentration underscores the industry's specific need for secure, verified, and interactive communication channels. Marketing automation followed as the second-largest use case, alongside technology hardware and software, showing that Indian companies are using the platform for both transactional alerts and campaign-led communications.

Harsha Solanki, Vice President and General Manager for Asia at Infobip, noted that business messaging in India has shifted focus toward trust and measurable outcomes. She stated that the dominance of finance and fintech traffic demonstrates the value of verified identity and security in consumer-facing industries. RCS enables brands to provide an app-like experience directly within the native messaging inbox without requiring users to download additional applications.

Globally, Infobip reported a 15% increase in RCS for Business traffic over the same comparative period, reaching beyond 165% growth worldwide. During H1 2025 to H1 2026, the company assisted over 7,300 unique brands with RCS registration requests and facilitated 14,000 successful RCS agent launches globally.

Unlike traditional SMS messaging, RCS integrates verified sender identities with rich media capabilities, suggested replies, and actionable buttons. This allows Indian enterprises to deploy contextual updates across customer onboarding, service alerts, promotional campaigns, and direct customer support.

Founded in 2006 and led by co-founders CEO Silvio Kutić and CTO Izabel Jelenić, Infobip operates a cloud communications platform that supports omnichannel engagement, user authentication, and contact center solutions. The company's infrastructure connects to over 10,000 operator connections globally, reaching mobile devices across six continents.

"The 108% growth in RCS adoption across India signals a fundamental shift in how enterprises approach digital communication. When financial and fintech institutions drive over three-quarters of traffic in a messaging channel, it proves that modern consumers and businesses prioritize verified security, trust, and interactive engagement over basic text alerts. As mobile-first markets mature, platforms that integrate native app-like experiences without friction will continue to capture enterprise preference and shape the future of customer interactions." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
