Karur Vysya Bank (KVB) has expanded its physical presence by opening 16 new branches across southern India and the Delhi NCR region. With this latest expansion, the bank's total branch network has reached 919 across the country.
The newly inaugurated branches include six locations in Tamil Nadu, five in Andhra Pradesh, three in Telangana, and one each in Karnataka and Delhi NCR. Specifically, the branches are situated in Indhresham, Gachibowli, and Kokapet in Telangana; Chennai-Thirumangalam, Erode-Chithode, Sivagangai, Salem-Ammapet, Salem-Jagirrammapalayam, and Kancheepuram-Sevilimedu in Tamil Nadu; Vijayawada-Ramavarapadu, Jaggayyapeta, Sompeta, Vizag-Kancharapalem, and Rajahmundry-Konthamuru in Andhra Pradesh; Udupi in Karnataka; and Gurugram-Udyog Vihar in Delhi NCR.
Ramesh Babu B, Managing Director and CEO of Karur Vysya Bank, inaugurated the new Gachibowli branch in person, while the remaining branches were opened virtually via video conference. Commenting on the expansion, he noted that the bank continues to grow its branch network in markets with strong business potential to deepen customer relationships.
"While digital banking has made everyday transactions much easier, branches continue to play an important role, particularly for our MSME, retail, and agricultural customers," said Ramesh Babu. He added that the new branches are designed to bring the bank closer to its customers, offering a combination of personalized service and digital banking access.
The bank stated that the expansion supports its broader strategy to deepen its presence across metropolitan, urban, semi-urban, and rural markets. These new locations will cater to retail clients as well as micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and agricultural businesses, complementing KVB's existing digital infrastructure.
The physical branch expansion runs alongside the bank's digital offerings. KVB continues to operate its mobile banking application, KVB DLite, which provides users with access to more than 150 financial and non-financial services.
The latest branch rollout follows continued financial growth for the institution. As of June 30, 2026, KVB reported a total business of ₹2,27,267 crore, which comprised deposits of ₹1,22,587 crore and advances of ₹1,04,680 crore. Additionally, the bank recorded its highest-ever quarterly net profit of ₹756 crore during the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 (Q1FY27).
"Karur Vysya Bank's latest expansion highlights an important business reality: physical and digital channels are not mutually exclusive, especially when serving MSME, retail, and agricultural segments. Even as digital adoption scales rapidly, physical touchpoints remain vital for building trust and relationship-driven lending in regional markets. Backed by solid quarterly financial performance, this strategic branch addition demonstrates a balanced growth model that combines localized customer service with robust digital capabilities." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
