Land Rover Launches Defender Trophy Edition in India at Rs 1.30 Crore

Automotive manufacturer Land Rover has introduced the Defender Trophy Edition in the Indian market, priced at Rs 1.30 crore (ex-showroom). The special variant is designed as a tribute to the historical Camel Trophy endurance competitions held between 1980 and 2000, which served as rigorous testing grounds for vehicles across demanding terrains in Brazil, Sumatra, and Siberia.

The Trophy Edition is exclusively available on the Defender 110 variant and is powered by a 3.0-litre inline-six diesel engine. The powerplant delivers 345.2 bhp of power and 71.3 kg-m of torque, enabling the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in under seven seconds. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Externally, the vehicle features a yellow-and-black paint scheme, 20-inch steel rims, external panniers, a side step, and a roof rack. The interior retains the standard Defender layout with the addition of yellow surfaces on the dashboard inset and door trims, alongside practical features such as physical controls and an infotainment system.

On the ride and handling front, the model includes seating ergonomics and suspension performance designed to handle varying road conditions. While air suspension is offered as a paid extra, the vehicle features adjustable ride heights that adapt dynamically based on vehicle speed.

The Defender Trophy Edition is positioned as a distinct offering within Land Rover's existing lineup in India, catering to buyers interested in heritage-inspired design configurations alongside standard luxury off-roader capabilities.
