Bristlecone, a Mahindra Group subsidiary and supply chain services provider, has recorded a 24 percent year-on-year growth in its topline. Managing Director and CEO Lakshamanan Chidambaram outlined the firm's strategic initiatives, including expanded service offerings in AI, data analytics, and an internal growth initiative aimed at scaling valuation.

MUMBAI — Bristlecone, an AI-powered supply chain services provider and a subsidiary of the Mahindra Group, has registered a 24 per cent year-on-year growth in its topline, according to Managing Director and CEO Lakshamanan Chidambaram. Acquired by the Mahindra Group in 2004, the firm specializes in helping organizations build higher-performing supply chain environments.

Speaking on the company's performance, Chidambaram stated that the double-digit growth demonstrates the effectiveness of recent operational interventions. During this period, the company added 15 new Fortune 1000 clients and doubled the size of its sales team while maintaining its core focus on supply chain management.

As part of its long-term strategy, the company has initiated project 'unicorn', which aims to scale its valuation over the next few years. The firm currently operates across three global markets—with the United States as its largest market, followed by Europe and India—and serves four core segments: high-tech, retail and consumer goods, manufacturing, and life sciences.

In terms of service expansion, Bristlecone has broadened its capabilities beyond traditional ERP supply chain services to include data analytics, product engineering, and artificial intelligence. According to leadership, AI-driven interventions currently account for approximately 10 to 12 per cent of the company's topline. While individual AI projects are typically smaller in scale compared to major SAP implementations, they establish foundational thought leadership that generates subsequent downstream business.

The company is also directing resources toward building intellectual property (IP)-infused accelerators and frameworks designed to accelerate implementation timelines for SAP and other supply chain products. Over the next two years, the firm aims to channel a significant portion of its investments into product development, shifting its revenue model toward a more IP-driven framework.

Looking ahead, the high-tech segment—spurred by the data centre and semiconductor demand for AI—alongside manufacturing and life sciences, will serve as primary growth drivers. Demonstrating its technical applications locally, Bristlecone implemented AI, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and computer vision across thousands of machines at parent Mahindra Group's Pune facility, achieving high equipment uptime and reduced manufacturing energy consumption.

"Bristlecone’s recent 24 percent topline growth reflects a clear alignment with enterprise demand for operational resilience. By strategically expanding its core supply chain competencies into high-growth areas like artificial intelligence, data analytics, and IP-driven accelerators, the company is successfully diversifying its revenue streams. For established enterprises and subsidiaries, combining deep domain expertise with targeted technological integration is an effective pathway to scale efficiently in competitive global markets." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
