MANIPAL — The Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) has registered an improvement in its standing in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) for 2026, published by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy.
According to the recent release, MAHE has moved into the 701-800 band globally, improving from its 801-900 band placement in the previous edition.
In an official media statement, the institution reported that it stands at 779th globally and seventh in India. This marks a 36-position improvement globally and a three-position rise nationally compared to the 2025 standing.
Sharath K Rao, Vice Chancellor of MAHE, commented on the development in the statement, noting that the upward movement reflects the efforts of the faculty, researchers, students, staff, alumni, and partners.

The ARWU rankings evaluate institutions based on various academic and research indicators, tracking institutional progress on a global scale.
