Artificial intelligence research organization OpenAI has announced that it will end its partnership with AI-coding agent Cursor following the company's acquisition by SpaceX. The development was shared through a post on the platform X.
In an additional statement published on its website, OpenAI confirmed that it has officially informed Cursor of the decision to wind down their existing contract. The company stated that a proposed shutoff date of November 12 has been established for the termination of the agreement.
Explaining the rationale behind the decision, OpenAI stated in its web post that it cannot be confident that SpaceX will utilize its technology in accordance with its terms of service. The organization cited its prior experience with companies led by Elon Musk, alleging contract violations in those past interactions.
