Hyderabad-based Pulse Pharmaceuticals has announced that it has received approval from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) for its nano-carrier entrapped Vitamin D3 oral dispersion.
According to the company, clinical studies have demonstrated 50 to 60 percent higher serum vitamin D levels with the newly approved nano-carrier entrapped Vitamin D3 oral dispersion when compared to conventional formulations. The product is currently being manufactured by Pulse Pharmaceuticals at its facilities located in Roorkee, Baddi, and Hyderabad.
The product utilizes the company's proprietary Aqueol platform technology, which is designed to effectively deliver lipophilic compounds in water-based mediums. Pulse employs nanotechnology to improve drug performance, bioavailability, and the overall patient experience.
Beyond Vitamin D3, the company stated in a release that it is applying these platforms to other essential nutrients, including Vitamin K2-7, Vitamin B12, and Iron. The technology is also being applied to widely-used medications such as Paracetamol, Diclofenac, and Ibuprofen.
