Space infrastructure and mission operations company Kepler Aerospace has raised $8 million in a seed funding round led by Blue Ashva Capital. The capital will be used to launch six swarming ISR satellites and scale its mission operations and avionics services.

Space infrastructure and mission operations company Kepler Aerospace has raised $8 million in its first external funding round since its inception.

The seed round was led by Blue Ashva Capital and co-led by Finvolve India Accelerator, alongside other participating investors.

Founded in 2018 by former ISRO professionals Navneet Singh and Kiran Sharma, Kepler Aerospace builds an integrated space infrastructure stack. This includes satellite systems, avionics, ground infrastructure, mission operations, and intelligence delivery.

The founders bring complementary technical experience from their backgrounds. Sharma was associated with a lunar nano-rover project at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, while Singh served as a founding member of the Indian nanosatellite programme at ISRO.

According to the company, the newly raised capital will be utilized to launch the first six swarming intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) satellites under its programme. Additionally, Kepler Aerospace plans to scale its Mission Operations as a Service and Avionics as a Service business verticals.

The company focuses on enabling reliable, secure, and scalable space missions for strategic, defence, and commercial applications. Its primary objective is to deliver persistent, low-latency intelligence from space, aiming to reduce intelligence latency from months to minutes through persistent ISR systems and integrated mission infrastructure.

Kepler has previously secured two IDEX prime contracts to provide swarming ISR constellations to India’s defence space ecosystem. These contracts are backed by approximately $4 million in grants under the IDEX programme.

The company operates a network of more than 70 ground stations, providing satellite communication, tracking, telemetry, command, and mission operations capabilities for various space missions.

"The infusion of $8 million into Kepler Aerospace highlights the growing investor confidence in India's deep-tech and space infrastructure sectors. Founded by former ISRO professionals, the company's focus on building integrated space stacks and reducing intelligence latency for defence and commercial applications addresses a critical market need. Scaling avionics and mission operations services alongside deploying swarming ISR satellites provides a clear roadmap for sustainable growth in the commercial space economy." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
