Stryker and IAGE Partner to Expand Fluorescence-Guided Surgery Training in India

Medical technology firm Stryker has entered into a strategic partnership with the Indian Association of Gynaecological Endoscopists (IAGE) to enhance surgeon education and technical capabilities in fluorescence-guided surgery (FGS) within the field of gynaecology.

The agreement was signed during the Pelvic Organ Prolapse Conference 2026 in Chennai. The announcement was made in the presence of 350 gynaecological surgeons and healthcare professionals from across the country.

The partnership comes as India experiences a rising burden of women's health conditions alongside an increasing adoption of minimally invasive surgical procedures. According to the organizations, these trends underscore the necessity for continued investment in surgeon-capability building and standardized clinical education.

Fluorescence-guided surgery is an emerging development in gynaecology that offers enhanced intraoperative visualization. This technology supports surgical precision, aids in informed clinical decision-making, and contributes to improved patient care.

Over the next two years, the collaboration will roll out pan-India clinical educational initiatives designed to expand access to training opportunities in FGS. Participating surgeons will also have exposure to both leading Indian and international experts, facilitating knowledge exchange and the adoption of global best practices in gynaecological surgery.

Aman Rishi, vice president and general manager for India at Stryker, noted that as India's surgical landscape evolves, technological innovation must be supported by ongoing clinical capability building. He stated that the collaboration aims to expand access to structured training so healthcare professionals can use technology with confidence and precision.

Dr. Sudha Tandon, president of IAGE, emphasized that minimally invasive gynaecological surgery is entering a new era shaped by advanced technologies and techniques. She added that keeping pace with these changes requires continuous learning, structured training, and shared clinical experiences.
