MUMBAI — Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited (TTML) released its financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, reporting a sharply narrowed net loss of ₹59.20 crore. This is a substantial improvement compared to the net loss of ₹320.82 crore recorded in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
Revenue from operations for the quarter rose by 8.2 per cent year-on-year to reach ₹309.65 crore. Following the earnings announcement, the company's stock experienced a 9.26 per cent jump, trading at ₹35.03 on the NSE by early afternoon with volumes exceeding 9.16 crore shares.
On the operational front, TTML's EBITDA climbed to ₹164.61 crore from ₹139.77 crore in the same period last year. The operating profit margin saw an improvement, rising to 41.73 per cent compared to 35.10 per cent previously. Despite these operational gains, finance costs continued to act as a primary drag on the bottom line, standing at ₹191.49 crore for the quarter.
For the half-year ended September 30, 2026, the company reported a narrowed net loss of ₹131.35 crore, down from ₹645.80 crore in the year-ago period. Half-yearly revenue stood at ₹611.22 crore, compared to ₹570.38 crore previously.
Alongside the financial numbers, TTML announced several leadership and governance updates. Gaurav Gupta, an executive from the Tata Sons Group Strategy Office with two decades of M&A and finance experience, was appointed as an Additional Director in a Non-Executive and Non-Independent capacity, effective October 23, 2026, subject to shareholder approval.
Additionally, Sweety Mamodia was named Company Secretary and Compliance Officer starting November 1, 2026. Sai Pratyush, serving as VP of Strategy, and Vaibhav Ambradkar, acting as GM of Customer Experience, were designated as Senior Management Personnel effective October 22, 2026.
Despite the positive quarterly performance, market context shows that TTML’s stock remains down roughly 37 per cent over the past year, trading well off its 52-week high of ₹58.25 recorded in November 2025.
"Tata Teleservices' latest quarterly performance highlights a clear improvement in operating margins and revenue growth, which has positively impacted market sentiment in the short term. However, high finance costs continue to weigh heavily on the bottom line. For long-term financial stability and sustained market recovery, the company must focus on debt management and structural cost optimization alongside its core revenue expansion." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
