ACME Solar Holdings has reported a consolidated net profit of approximately ₹267 crore for the second quarter of FY27. This figure represents an increase compared to the ₹115 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. According to the company, the growth in net profit was driven by higher power generation and improved capacity utilisation.
During Q2 FY27, the company's consolidated total income rose to roughly ₹101 crore, compared to ₹95 crore in Q1 FY27 and ₹60 crore in Q2 FY26. Meanwhile, consolidated total expenses also increased to around ₹134 crore in Q2 FY27, up from ₹123 crore in the previous quarter and ₹68 crore in Q2 FY26.
Operational metrics indicated an increase in power generation, which rose by more than 19 percent to 1,840 million units (MU) in Q2 FY27 compared to 1,539 MU in Q2 FY26. The capacity utilisation factor (CUF) improved to 27.8 percent from 24.1 percent. Plant availability was reported at 99.3 percent, while grid availability stood at 99.2 percent. Additionally, the company recorded incremental sales of 324 MUs through short-term peak-power battery energy storage system (BESS) operations.
In terms of infrastructure development, ACME Solar commissioned approximately 2.1 gigawatt-hour (GWh) of BESS capacity during the July-September quarter. This addition brings its total commissioned capacity to around 5.2 GWh. The company stated that this positions it as India's second-largest BESS operator by capacity. Furthermore, around 19 GWh of BESS capacity has been contracted with suppliers including CATL, Hithium, Ganfeng Li Energy, Trina, and CLOU.
The firm has also signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) for 430 megawatt (MW) of firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) capacity, bringing its total contracted capacity to 4,310 MW. Alongside these operational updates, ACME Solar revised its FY27 cumulative BESS commissioning target to more than 12 GWh, up from the previous target of 10 GWh. The company also increased its 2030 renewable energy generation capacity target to 15 GW from 10 GW.
"ACME Solar's Q2 performance highlights the growing importance of infrastructure efficiency and energy storage solutions in the renewable energy sector. More than doubling its net profit alongside expanding its BESS capacity demonstrates a clear focus on scaling operational capabilities. As the sector evolves, integrating storage technologies like BESS will play a critical role in managing grid stability and meeting ambitious long-term generation targets." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
