Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to accelerate relief and restoration work in the wake of Cyclone Arnab. The state administration reported no loss of life due to advance precautions, while authorities have been instructed to assess crop damage and restore basic utilities promptly.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday directed state officials to expedite relief operations following the impact of Cyclone Arnab. The Chief Minister conducted a teleconference involving approximately 32,000 personnel, ranging from district collectors to field-level staff, to review the ongoing relief and restoration measures across the state.

According to the state administration, advance precautions helped prevent any loss of life, and no fatalities have been reported so far. Mr. Naidu reviewed the cyclone's impact until late into the night and held an early morning teleconference to evaluate the situation.

During the review meetings, the Chief Minister instructed authorities to prepare preliminary estimates of crop damage. He also directed officials to brief the Central government on the measures being undertaken by the state to address the cyclone's impact.

Emphasizing the restoration of normal conditions, Mr. Naidu instructed authorities to clear fallen trees from roads and national highways within specified timeframes to ensure uninterrupted traffic movement. Electricity supplies in affected areas are scheduled to be restored as soon as strong winds subside and conditions permit.

The administration has been directed to ensure adequate food, drinking water, and medical facilities at cyclone shelters. Officials must also take measures to prevent water from entering agricultural fields, protect horticultural crops from damage, and implement preventive measures against breaches in tanks and irrigation canals.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister noted that the Mana Mitra system should be utilized to its full potential to enable citizens to report field-level problems. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams have been placed on standby to respond to emergencies.

"Timely administrative intervention and proactive disaster management play a critical role in mitigating business disruptions and safeguarding local economies during natural calamities. The rapid mobilization of tens of thousands of personnel, real-time infrastructure clearance, and a strong focus on agricultural asset protection demonstrate effective crisis governance. For businesses and regional operations, minimizing downtime and ensuring the safety of communities are essential steps toward rapid economic recovery." — Dr. Shishir Gupta, Founder & CEO, StartupLanes
